Submission requirements

Electricka invites you to submit a quiz for publication in the feature called Arts Quizzes. The type of quiz you can submit can be either: 1) multiple choice, or 2) matching. Choose one type or the other; don't mix them.

Your quiz should be about personalities, events, works of art, or other topics that are chosen from the world of the arts (subjects related to Electricka, her cohort muses, or the arts they represent are especially welcome.) Imaginative, creative, and clever themes, questions, and answers are especially welcome.

Submissions to the Arts Quizzes feature generally meet these requirements:

  • Your quiz must be original. That is, you must compose it yourself or you must participate in a group that composes it.
  • Follow the style and form of the quizzes that Electricka uses for her multiple choice or matching quizzes.
  • Indicate the kind of a quiz you are submitting: either: 1) Multiple Choice, or 2) Matching.
  • Submit your quiz in the form of a file you can attach to a ByLine form. Prepare your quiz file in one of the following three ways. Either:

  1. Block print your quiz on a piece of paper by hand and then scan or otherwise convert it to a graphic file format that the ByLine form will accept, or
  2. Create your puzzle using a quiz creation program, print it, and scan the printed page to a graphic file format that the ByLine form will accept, or
  3. Create your puzzle using a quiz creation program; then output (export) your puzzle to a graphic file format that the ByLine form will accept.

NOTE: Electricka's Staff will convert your puzzle file to a file format that visitors can use to: 1) work your quiz on their computer screens, or 2) work your puzzle by printing it on paper, or 3) both.

  • Submitted by a visitor to Electricka's web site or by a collaboration of visitors.

  • Primarily in English (foreign language names or expressions or other constructions are fine, if appropriate).
  • Quiz questions and answers should not contain private information or intellectual property.
  • Quiz questions are not proprietary. One or more of the following applies:
    • Copyright or patent has expired or never existed.
    • Quiz is in the public domain; it does not belong to anybody.
    • You own it because you created it.
    • You own the legal right to publish which you acquired from someone else.
    • You have oral or written permission from the owner to publish.
  • Completely finished by the author(s) when submitted. The Muse edits nothing.

Remember to include:

  • State your quiz's title, if it has one.
  • State the theme, if your quiz has one.
  • A list of questions and a matching set of answers for each question.
  • Rate the difficulty level of your quiz if you can, using the terms Easy, Medium, or Hard.

If your work has a previous publication history that you want Electricka to publish with your essay, include it in the comment section of the submission form and ask Electricka to publish it there.

Your ByLine quiz can be accepted for publication even if it is not written especially for this feature. It does not have to be submitted by the author(s). Electricka's policies apply.
